It was one of those Youtube sessions - funny videos, funny animals, funny baby sessions, when I saw Baby Felicity's video.
And then i saw Ms Elizabeth A's 7week old crawling. I was like.. what was that?!!
So so...these videos started it all - my interest in developing potential in children, i guess i was thinking even if it didnt come from my tummy, one day i can still give my best to any other baby with these "productive" interest.
Of course everything that interest me, i share it with my BForeva and as always he let me rant abt it. After a few more videos and talks abt it, he came out of the sack and said. "I just worry that instead of instilling love for learning, de child gets pressured and hates learning!!"
Choy! I can safely say that I think with my cynicism on our "paper" education system and high regards for fun&laughter environment, no child shall be "paper-abused" under my care. hah!
My BForeva is a well.. black&white, show me proof kind..i believe its a job hazard since he is in a "science" field, facts and experiments and credentials are the key to win him over. And so, i did a lil' more reads and look for articles & writings on child prodigy and stuff like that.. Found an interesting one..published journal in 1998 by John Bruer ( errrr i got it from my Uni website and its paid for..but if you are keen do drop me a msg but i doubt it. haha).
Anyhow after a few reads, i got despaired..the ones i read are mostly pointing fingers to its just GIMMICKS... Its just marketing to make the anxious & excited parents spend on unnecessary educational stuff...and at the end of the your child will not be the next prodigy...What say u?!
Will & Shall always end a post with my one habit : googling-on-Quotes!
